We’re a tech company (that means most of us don’t even know what ink is) so we prefer online applications. Plus, we have staffing specialists and hiring managers located around the world, so submitting your résumé online ensures it won’t be missed.

Should I just send my résumé the old fashioned way?

No need to. When you create a profile in our iRecruitment system, you can create a search agent that will automatically notify you when an opportunity matching your skills and interests becomes available. Or you can open your profile so that it can be found by our staffing specialists when they conduct a search.

Are all of the career opportunities listed on the website open to all applicants?

Yes, every position listed is available. Openings are checked and updated regularly. Bonne chance!

What Internet browser is needed to search for jobs and submit my résumé?

Oracle iRecruitment works best with Internet Explorer 7, but it also works with Firefox and Safari Internet browsers.

Where does my résumé go after I submit it online?

It ends up in a folder dedicated to the position you applied for. Our staffing specialists and hiring managers are then able to easily review all the résumés for that particular position.

You’ll fit right in. Feel free to apply for any positions that match your skill set and interest you.

Don’t worry – if you set up a search agent on your profile you’ll receive automatic e-mail updates when jobs matching your skills and interests become available. So relax, watch a movie and have an evening to yourself. You deserve it.

Do I need the right to work in the country to which I am applying?

Still thinking about Paris? That’s great, but you do need to be legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.

Sure, SMART has done a lot in the education world, but do you offer internships and co-op programs?
Where can I find information about them?

We participate in co-op and internship programs at various universities, and the programs follow the respective university’s guidelines. If you do not see any SMART opportunities posted at your university, you can e-mail internship@smarttech.com for more information.

Click the Refer button at the top right of the job description page to forward it to a friend. And we have a great cafeteria on the main floor where your friend can thank you with a delicious lunch.

before I throw my computer out the window?

Still, it’s better than working on a typewriter, right? Please e-mail us at peopleservices@smarttech.com if you experience any technical issues. A staffing specialist will get back to you as soon as possible.

Be sure to include the following information in your e-mail:

  • Version of Java you are using
  • Browser brand and version, such as Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, Safari or Google Chrome
  • Screen shot of the error message, if available
  • Description of what you were attempting to do when you received the error

How long will my application be held on file?

We hold applications on file for 12 months. However, we encourage interested candidates to update their profiles and résumés every 6 months to keep them current.

Will SMART notify me if I do not get selected for an interview?

Due to the volume of résumés that we receive, we are only able to contact those applicants who have been selected for further consideration.

Do I need to dress to impress at the interview?

We’re more interested in you than your clothes. Find out more about SMART’s business-casual dress code by reading about our environment.

What’s this fit interview all about? Am I going to have to wear a uniform to work!?

Absolutely not! The fit interview is a great chance for you to sit down with members of the hiring team for an informal chat. It gives you an opportunity to show off your winning personality and ask some informal questions about life at SMART.
