Teaching Excellence Awards

The Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA) program acknowledges inspired educators throughout the United States and Canada who help their students realize great accomplishments. The program sponsors existing teacher recognition programs by donating interactive education technologies and professional development opportunities. Recipients receive a TEA technology classroom featuring SMART products that help them motivate and engage students.

The story behind TEA

In 1998 SMART Technologies donated a SMART Board interactive whiteboard and floor stand to the Missouri Teacher of the Year program. Program organizers had recognized the value of interactive whiteboards at increasing class participation and improving student leaning outcomes, and requested a donation from SMART.
