SMART Certified Sales Professional (SCSP) for Business – Program Guide
Program overview
This guide provides the information you need to access and complete the SMART Certified Sales Professional (SCSP) for Business program.
The SCSP for Business program is SMART’s multifaceted training and professional development program for authorized resellers and distributors. The SCSP for Business program is based on SMART’s Freestorm™ visual collaboration solutions model.
Each area of the program is designed to develop a new or existing sales representative with the skills to effectively represent and promote SMART business solutions.
The program consists of interactive, self-paced courses that you can complete any time, in any place and at your own pace. The courses include theory, scenarios, rich multimedia and graphics. Each course is reinforced with a graded assessment – to be completed before continuing to the next course.
Courses are grouped into three modules, with a fourth Freestorm Fundamentals module designed for authorized resellers or learners who’ve already completed the previous SCSP program.
- Sales Training
Six core courses that provide the messaging to position and sell SMART’s business solutions within the framework of the Freestorm solutions model.
- Product Use Training
Three courses to familiarize you with Freestorm solutions and enhance your demonstration skills.
- Technical Training
Eight courses that provide a technical introduction to the SMART Board® 800 series interactive whiteboard and a variety of projectors. These courses are a prerequisite to Level 2 face-to-face technical and installation training.
- Freestorm Fundamentals
Four foundation courses from the Sales module that provide you with key information about Freestorm solution messaging.
Program requirements
SMART solution providers and select tier resellers are required to complete all courses in the Sales, Product Use and Technical modules.
Authorized resellers and candidates who’ve already completed the previous SCSP program must complete the Freestorm Fundamentals module.
The SCSP for Business is free. No fees or training units are required.

As an individual learner, you may be interested in the modules most relevant to your job function. The SCSP for Business program enables your organization to meet tier-level training requirements in a flexible way, with modules grouped according to the roles that exist within reseller organizations (sales specialists, technical specialists such as sales engineers or solution designers, account executives).

Challenge path
The SCSP challenge path is designed for resellers and individuals who have already successfully demonstrated sales expertise, product use skills and technical knowledge of SMART products.
When challenging a module, you’ll be required to attain a minimum grade of 80% in each of the module’s course assessments. If you fail an assessment, you’ll be required to register and complete all the courses and assessments in that module.

Sales Training
All courses are self-paced. Each course is approximately 45 minutes in length and includes an assessment of 10 multiple-choice questions. You have three attempts to score 80% and pass the assessment.
- Introduction to Freestorm Visual Collaboration Solutions | [Freestorm Fundamental]
This is an overview of the Freestorm visual collaboration solutions model. You’ll learn what visual collaboration is, why it’s important to our customers and how Freestorm solutions provide the most value.
- Common Visual Collaboration Scenarios and Solutions | [Freestorm Fundamental]
Candidates will learn how Freestorm solution scenarios can be used across a variety of businesses, the starting configurations for each collaboration scenario and about customizing the solution with specific lines, systems and products.
- Intuitive Displays
This course provides an overview of SMART's line of interactive displays and the benefits each interactive display provides to the customer.
- SMART Meeting Pro™ Software | [Freestorm Fundamental]
This course focuses on using SMART Meeting Pro software to boost productivity and enhance teamwork. Topics range from SMART Ink™ capabilities, how to plan and deliver a meeting and connection options for remote participants who use Bridgit conferencing software. - Bridgit® Conferencing Software | [Freestorm Fundamental]
This course provides an overview of Bridgit conferencing software, highlighting the value it provides by boosting any team’s remote collaboration capabilities.
- Comprehensive Services
This course provides an overview of the SMART support options available for business customers. It also discusses education services, software maintenance, extended hardware warranties, preventative maintenance and consulting services.
Note: Because each course in the Sales module builds on concepts learned in previous courses, you must complete them in the recommended sequence.

- The SMART Full-Meeting Experience (90 min)
This course is designed to teach you how to use SMART’s business solutions to host a SMART meeting.
- We Just a Got a SMART Board® – Now What? (60 min)
This course provides a guide on how to get started with using the SMART Board interactive whiteboard.
- SMART Podium™ Training (35 min)
This course introduces learners to the basic features and functions of the SMART Podium 500 series interactive pen display.

Technical Training
All courses are self-paced. Each course includes an assessment of 10 multiple-choice questions. You have three attempts to score 80% and pass the course assessment. Note that these courses prepare you for Level 2 technical and installation training.
- SMART Prerequisite Technical Training (20 min)
This course introduces you to safety considerations, software installation, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- SMART Board 800 Series Interactive Whiteboard Level 1 (60 min)
This course introduces you to the SMART Board 800 series interactive whiteboard product line, compatible accessories and features.
- Introduction to SMART Projectors (20 min)
This course introduces features, specifications, basic maintenance and troubleshooting for SMART projectors.
- Projector Technical Training (30 min each)
Select three of the following projector courses. Each one details projector setup, alignment and maintenance.

- SMART Meeting Pro Software System Administrator (60 min)
An in-depth course on how to install and maintain SMART Meeting Pro software.

An in-depth course on how to install and maintain Bridgit conferencing software.
* The V25 projector forms part of a low-cost solution that typically includes the SMART Board 480 interactive whiteboard.
