Asynchronous collaboration
Students can work on the same file at different times from anywhere as long as they have an iPad, the SMART Notebook app and Internet access.
Share on the SMART Board
Show content from an iPad on a SMART display for the whole class to see using AirPlay and an Apple TV or using an HDMI or VGA cable (not included).
SMART Notebook content file manager
Browse thumbnails to quickly find the file you need. By tapping below the preview thumbnail, you can bring up the virtual iPad keyboard to name and rename files.
Zoom and Pan
Get a closer look and navigate content by zooming in or out and then panning to reveal a different area of the content.
Text
Create a text object by tapping once in the software's interface. You can also insert text using the virtual iPad keyboard, and change the font type, color, size and justification on the page lusing the text properties tab.
Pens and Erasers
Create drawings and annotations using colored digital pens and highlighters – you can change the color and thickness of the pen. Choose the right-sized eraser to erase ink.
Line Tool
Create drawings, label diagrams and organization information by inserting a line, changing the color and thickness of the line.

Objects
Tap to move and pinch to scale an object. Double tap or tap and hold an object to activate the infinite cloner and change the sound properties.

Make files more visual by inserting photos from the iPad camera and
camera roll.
Sound
Enhance the auditory experience by adding sound recordings to objects. Double-tap or press and hold an object to pop-up the context menu to record a new sound.
AutoSave
The app saves all revisions automatically as you work.
Undo & Redo
Quickly undo or redo your last change with one tap.
E-mail files
Share SMART Notebook files by emailing one or more files from the SMART content file manager or directly from an open file.
Support for SMART Lesson Activity Builder

SMART Lesson Activity Toolkit
Flash-based content, including SMART Lesson Activity Toolkit content, is not supported by Apple iOS devices like the iPad.
Language support
Set the language for the iPad to English, UK English, Italian, Spanish, French, Russian or German, and the SMART Notebook app for iPad menus will appear in the corresponding language. For all other languages, the menus will default to English.
