Monitor screens
Observe each participant's computer screen from your computer. SMART Sync lets you view the screens as thumbnail images that refresh every few seconds, enabling you to see how participants are progressing at any given time. In the top left corner of each thumbnail, you will see an icon that indicates which application is in use.
Show video
Transmit video files to all participant computers with ease. SMART Sync will synchronize playback so that the video begins only after every participant has received the file.
Launch applications
Launch an application for everyone at once. With SMART Sync, it takes just seconds to open any application remotely on all the computers in the room.
Send files
Send documents directly to all your participants using SMART Sync. Once a file is downloaded on the participants' computer, it automatically opens using the appropriate application.
Receive files
Ask participants to send you files using the SMART Sync interface. Their name and the date are automatically inserted into the file name, and all files are stored in a folder of your choosing.
Designate session aides
Give colleagues limited access to SMART Sync so they can monitor your training sessions. The software allows you to choose up to five people to act as session aides. They can access the thumbnail view of the participants' screens and monitor the progress of the whole group or individual participants.
Change languages
Take advantage of multilingual options. The software supports more than 20 languages, including Spanish, French, Chinese, German, Italian, Dutch, Greek, Turkish, Russian and Portuguese.
Respond to participants individually
SMART Sync allows you to chat with individual participants or small groups. You can avoid distracting certain participants with messages that don't apply to them by restricting your comments to specific individuals or groups.
Create and monitor group chat sessions
Organize participants into groups and create a controlled chat environment for them to discuss a given topic.
Conduct surveys on the fly
Send a yes or no question to participants and ask them to vote on it. SMART Sync automatically tallies the responses and displays the results at the bottom of the window.
Control computers remotely
Take control of any computer to guide participants through a particular task or problem. You can use your mouse to draw on the screen with digital ink to attract attention to a certain area. Any changes you make are visible to the participant in real time. You also have the option to share control so that both you and your participant can make changes.
Broadcast a screen
Demonstrate a concept or example by sharing your desktop or a participant's desktop with everyone in the room. You can either set your broadcast to Full Screen mode so participants can't view or use other applications, or Window mode to allow participants to switch between the broadcast and other applications.
Lock screens
Capture the attention of the whole group or an individual participant by locking their screens using a customizable message.
Capture screens
Take a snapshot of a participant's screen and save it as an image with a time and date stamp to record training progress.
Control online access
Keep participants focused by blocking or restricting access to the Internet. With SMART Sync, you can create multiple Internet blocking rules that prevent participants from accessing the Internet.
Restrict application access
Prevent participants from accessing applications such as games or instant messaging using customizable application blocking rules. You can choose to block certain applications, allowing only the ones that are relevant to your session.
Keep networks secure
SMART Sync includes comprehensive security features such as trainer authentication and 256-bit encryption. The software also lets you set passwords to protect the connections between trainers and participants.
Customize monitoring
Ensure only specific trainers can monitor participants. With SMART Sync, you can use Active Directory to allow certain trainers in specified NT authentication user groups to observe participants.
Manage computers
Remotely shut down, log off or restart the computers of your entire group or a selected individual.
Go wireless
Connect and stay connected to your wireless network, and your participants. You can also add devices such as laptops and tablet PCs to your network.
Integrate other SMART products
Combine SMART Sync with other SMART products, including SMART Meeting Pro collaboration platform and the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. When you use SMART Sync with a SMART Board interactive whiteboard, you can write notes on the interactive whiteboard and your participants will see them on their own desktops.
