Mario Del Rizzo brings significant experience to global operations team
CALGARY, Alberta --- April 23, 2007 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces the appointment of Mario Del Rizzo to the newly created position of director, global operations. In this role, Del Rizzo is responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies and practices to take advantage of the global market growth in collaboration technology. Del Rizzo has had an extensive career in operations and process development and brings with him knowledge specific to global operations, which will enable him to effectively manage production activities occurring outside of SMART’s anchor facility in Kanata, Ontario, Canada. He will also manage and assess relationships with manufacturers outside of North America.
Prior to his appointment, Del Rizzo held the position of manager, new product introduction, at SMART for three years. He was responsible for the transition of products from development to volume production. In previous roles, Del Rizzo gained manufacturing experience with other technology companies, including Nortel and Solectron, in original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and contract manufacturing environments. Throughout his 25-year career, Del Rizzo has focused on new product development, process engineering, cost reduction and assembly. Del Rizzo holds a bachelor of applied science in industrial engineering.
