
Brian McGurk to focus on enduring people strategies
CALGARY, Alberta --- August 23, 2007 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces the appointment of Brian McGurk to the position of vice president, people services. In this executive position, McGurk assumes overall responsibility for all people strategies and practices, including recruiting and retention, learning and development, compensation and benefits, organizational effectiveness, change management, and policies and procedures.
McGurk brings to SMART more than 15 years’ experience in human resources leadership. For the past three years, he held the position of vice president of human resources for a multinational income trust. Prior to that, he was vice president of human resources for a company specializing in remote power solutions. In these executive roles, he was responsible for the development and implementation of creative and strategic human resources services and programs. McGurk is a certified human resources professional and holds a bachelor of management degree in human resources and a bachelor of arts degree in political science.
