Software application allows teachers to view and interact with Notebook files on all hardware platforms
CALGARY, ALBERTA --- January 10, 2007 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces Notebook™ interactive viewer, a cross-platform application that allows users to view, share and interact with content in files created within Notebook collaborative learning software, the main whiteboarding application within SMART Board™ software. The full version of Notebook software is widely used by educators to create and modify interactive lessons and to manage digital resources. Available for Windows®, Mac OS and Linux® operating systems, Notebook interactive viewer ensures that if teachers change classrooms or schools, they still have access to their Notebook files, regardless of the hardware platform or brand of interactive whiteboard being used in their new location. Third-party content created with Notebook software can be accessed and used in the same manner.
Notebook interactive viewer has an interface similar to the full version of Notebook software, which is available to SMART customers. If teachers without access to SMART products are sent a Notebook file, they can download a small, one-time application that allows them to open, view and work with the content in the file. Teachers can, for instance, drag images across the screen, sort pages, play imbedded multimedia, use active Web links and write over lessons.
