
Leading ICT company to strengthen sales, marketing and support efforts with over 40 new staff
CALGARY, Alberta --- January 29, 2008 --- SMART Technologies announces it plans to expand sales and marketing efforts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) by hiring over 40 employees in the region. Demand for interactive whiteboards and other classroom and meeting room products from SMART has been growing dramatically in EMEA for the past several years, and the company anticipates it will increase even more in the future. During its 21-year history, SMART has successfully worked with distributors throughout the region. These new positions will allow those relationships to continue and enable SMART to dedicate significantly more resources to support its EMEA channel and end users in order to drive growth and offer superior customer service.
In the first wave of hiring, SMART will actively recruit to fill the new positions of vice president and general manager, sales manager for Europe, area managers (multiple), education consultants (multiple) and account representatives (multiple). SMART also plans to hire marketing and customer support staff for the EMEA region, to be located in Europe. Other administrative positions are also being filled to support the growing number of staff located in the EMEA region.
