More than 330,000 customers can benefit from using new projector with 500 series board
CALGARY, Alberta --- June 6, 2008 --- SMART Technologies announces that its new Unifi™ 45 projector is now compatible with its popular SMART Board™ 500 series interactive whiteboards and the 660 model, creating a high- performance integrated system. Although SMART discontinued the SMART Board 500 series in 2005, more than 330,000 educators based primarily in the United Kingdom and North America still use them to teach interactive lessons and engage students. Customers who are using SMART Board 560 and 580 interactive whiteboards can now upgrade their projectors by adding SMART’s new Unifi 45 projector. The wall-mounted projector is already compatible with the SMART Board 680 interactive whiteboard.
The Unifi 45 projector is a short-throw, high-offset projector that reduces shadows cast onto the interactive whiteboard and offers a bright image (2,000 lumens), XGA resolution (1024 by 768 pixels) and true color quality. Its unique boom is wall mounted and, depending on the board model, extends from the wall 37 1/4 to 47 1/4'' (94.6–120.0 cm). The boom protects the system from deliberate damage by slowly collapsing from its installed position. The projector includes a control panel, which is installed below the interactive whiteboard, has a one-touch on/off button and enables peripherals, including laptops, document cameras and DVD players, to be connected.

SMART is now accepting orders for the Unifi 45 projector, which is compatible with SMART Board 560, 580, 660 and 680 interactive whiteboards. It is now shipping with a suggested list price of US$2,999. Suggested education pricing is US$2,099. Suggested list price and suggested education pricing for an integrated Unifi 45 projector with a SMART Board 660 interactive whiteboard is $4,399 and $3,079, respectively.
