CALGARY, ALBERTA --- June 15, 2007 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces that the new height-adjustable wall mount for the SMART Board™ 600i interactive whiteboard system is now available. Using the smooth-sliding counterweight mechanism, teachers can easily raise or lower the 600i system to any desired height within a 20-inch (50 cm) range. Lowering the SMART Board interactive whiteboard gives students in early grades easy access to a larger portion of the active area of the interactive whiteboard, and raising it back up to the teacher’s height gives students at the back of the classroom a better view. The wall mount also addresses some of the accessibility needs of teachers and students with disabilities, such as those in wheelchairs.
The height-adjustable wall mount attaches directly to any studded or concrete wall and has a template to which the Unifi™ 35 projector and the SMART Board interactive whiteboard are attached. Once fitted to the wall mount, the SMART Board interactive whiteboard is stable, safe and wobble-free. The sliding mechanism is completely encased in an aluminum structure to ensure safe operation and alleviate any safety concerns. Installation time for the wall mount, projector and interactive whiteboard is estimated to take approximately three hours, meaning that a classroom can be completely installed with little schedule disruption.

Set to desired height – With the height-adjustable wall mount, users decide exactly how high or low to set the SMART Board 600i interactive whiteboard system. It adjusts to any point within the 20-inch (50 cm) range and locks at its highest position.
Easy to use and install – Simply grasp any part of the SMART Board interactive whiteboard to slide it up and down smoothly. Installation time for the wall mount, projector and interactive whiteboard is approximately three hours. Virtually any classroom can accommodate the 600i because the projector is located directly above the interactive whiteboard, so there’s no need for complicated wiring or ceiling mounting.
Locking system – The wall mount is easy to lock at its highest position, so the entire system is out of reach when not in use. The locking mechanism at the bottom of the unit is a metal ring through which users can put their own padlock.
Safe operation – The counterweight lifting and lowering mechanism is completely enclosed in an aluminum structure for safe operation. Once fitted to the wall mount, the SMART Board interactive whiteboard is stable, safe and wobble-free.
Clean aesthetic – When attached to the wall mount, the 600i protrudes only a few inches from the wall and the mount is completely hidden from view.
