Optional accessory offers 20 inches of vertical travel
CALGARY, ALBERTA --- January 26, 2007 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces a new height-adjustable mount for the SMART Board™ 600i interactive whiteboard system. Teachers will now be able to raise the 600i system 20 inches (50 centimeters) up or down, to a desired height. Lowering the SMART Board interactive whiteboard gives students in early grades easy access to a larger portion of the active area of the interactive whiteboard, and raising it gives students in the back of the classroom a better view. The new mount also addresses the requirements of classrooms where students with disabilities and those in wheelchairs need different heights to reach and work on the SMART Board interactive whiteboard.
The mount includes a pre-configured template that attaches both the Unifi™ 35 projector and the SMART Board interactive whiteboard directly to any studded or concrete wall. It will ship as one component that is easy to install, robust and maintenance-free. The mount features a smooth-sliding mechanism so it can be effortlessly raised and lowered with one hand. The sliding mechanism is completely encased in the structure to ensure safe operation. Once mounted on the structure, the SMART Board interactive whiteboard is stable and wobble-free. SMART first showed height-adjustable mounts in 2002 and is now bringing this to the market because of its inherent benefit when used with the 600i interactive whiteboard system.
