Linda Thomas to accelerate global marketing efforts
CALGARY, Alberta --- April 26, 2007 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces the appointment of Linda Thomas to the position of vice president, marketing. Taking over from Tom Hodson, who was recently promoted to president and chief operating officer (COO), Thomas assumes the leadership role for marketing SMART’s products and services worldwide. A seasoned business professional, Thomas will lead the marketing group, which includes product management, education and corporate market development, marketing communications and international marketing.
Thomas brings over 16 years of marketing, sales and business development experience to SMART. She is a highly respected business leader with a skill set that combines both marketing and technology expertise. She holds a bachelor of mathematics degree with specialization in information systems from one of Canada’s top IT universities. Thomas comes to SMART from a Fortune 500 company, where she led the development and deployment of all marketing strategies and programs to support a significant business unit. She has also held senior roles in strategy and planning, sales integration and development, and business development positions in a number of significant global companies.
