Jeff Losch brings a unique blend of technical and legal experience to SMART
CALGARY, Alberta --- October 16, 2008 --- SMART Technologies announces the appointment of Jeff Losch to the position of vice president, legal and general counsel. Losch will lead SMART’s legal department and be responsible for all the legal affairs of the company and its subsidiaries, including its corporate, commercial and intellectual property matters. He is based in Calgary, Canada, and reports to Nancy Knowlton, SMART’s CEO.
Losch brings 20 years of legal experience and a diverse skill set to SMART. He began his legal career in private practice, focusing on business law with a large law firm in Toronto, and then moved on to become an in-house lawyer at the Canadian subsidiary of a U.S. multinational corporation. Losch comes to SMART from a publicly traded consumer electronics retailer, where he held the role of senior vice president, secretary and general counsel. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. In addition to his law degree, Losch holds an engineering degree with a minor in management and originally worked as a project engineer for a Calgary oil and gas company.
