Installation instructionsHide

Follow the steps below to download and activate SMART Notebook software.

  1. Obtain a product key to activate SMART Notebook software.

  2. Download SMART Notebook software from one of the download panels below.

  3. During the installation process, enter the product key you received from SMART.

NOTE: If you don't enter a product key, you can use SMART Notebook software for 30 days.

SMART Notebook 11 software for Linux includes SMART Product Drivers 11 SP1 with support for the SMART Board 480 series interactive whiteboard.

If you have a SMART Board 480 series interactive whiteboard, you need an Internet connection and 26 MB of free hard disk space for the Dynamic Kernel Module Support (DKMS). If you don't have a SMART Board 480 series interactive whiteboard, you can remove the extra driver from your installation.

  1. Download and install the DKMS from the appropriate Debian or RPM package.

  2. If you're installing from an RPM package, install the appropriate Fermi package. For installation information, see the RPM installation panel.

  3. Download and install the xf86 target archive. For installation information, see the xf86 input target archive download panel.

  • 2.5 GB of free hard disk space for minimum installation
  • Linux kernel 2.6.31 or later
  • X Window System 11 release 6 (X11R6) or later that supports XRender and Xinerama

  • libstdc++6
  • GNOME 2.28 or KDE 4.3.5 libraries or later (recommended)
