New collaboration software wins in Software for Desktop Systems category
CALGARY, Alberta --- April 16, 2009 --- SMART Technologies announces that its new collaboration software, SMART Meeting Pro, has been recognized by Government Computer News (GCN) as a Best of FOSE winner in the Software for Desktop Systems category. The Best of FOSE awards recognize outstanding and innovative information technology (IT) products for government use as exhibited at FOSE, the largest event for government IT professionals. More than 65 companies submitted a total of 115 new products for consideration during this year’s competition, which was held in Washington, DC, in March 2009. GCN’s editors and technology analysts rigorously reviewed the new products during the trade show and recognized 14 winners based on four criteria: innovation, usability/applicability to government, relative performance based on specifications, and value. SMART Meeting Pro is a collaborative meeting software solution that adds advanced whiteboarding and data conferencing to meeting rooms that have a dedicated computer and one or more SMART Board interactive whiteboards or displays. The easy-to-use interface connects multiple interactive displays and laptops in the same room or around the world, enabling meeting participants to share ideas and information regardless of location. With SMART Meeting Pro, teams can display documents and images, and notes can be made on any display in digital ink. The notes can then be saved to a network drive, the desktop or a USB key and distributed via e-mail.
