Overview
This document describes how to upgrade your Unifi 35 projector’s firmware to version 2.x. This firmware upgrade includes the following procedures:

Determining your current firmware version

Downloading the firmware upgrade from the SMART Technologies website

Switching your projector to Service mode

Installing the firmware upgrade
Details
Complete the following procedures to upgrade your projector’s firmware version.
To determine your projector’s current firmware version

Press the Hide/Show Menu button on the left side of your interactive whiteboard’s the pen tray.

Select Settings > System Information.
-
Confirm that the firmware version to the right of SMART FW Ver begins with the number one.
To download the firmware upgrade and begin the installation

Visit the Unifi 35 Projector Firmware download page.

Locate the latest 2.x firmware version on the Web page, and then click Download.
The Download software page appears.

Complete the required fields in the online form, and then click Start Download.
The File Download dialog box appears.

Click Run.
The Unifi Update InstallShield wizard appears.

Click Next.
-
Read the license agreement, select I accept the terms in the license agreement if you accept the terms, and then click Next.

Click Next to accept the default destination folder.

Click Install to begin the installation.

Select the Launch Unifi Update Wizard check box, and then click Finish.
Note
If you click Finish without selecting the Launch Unifi Update Wizard check box, you can also launch the Unifi Projector Update wizard by double-clicking Unifi 2.1.3-Updater.exe in the C:\Program Files\Unifi Update Wizard folder.
The Unifi Projector Update wizard appears.
To switch your projector to service mode
Follow the instructions in the Unifi Projector Update wizard:

Turn off your projector and allow it to complete the following cooling process:

Your projector’s lamp turns off.
-
Your projector’s status light flashes red for three minutes during stage one of the cooling process.

Your projector’s status light flashes green for a few seconds.
-
Your projector’s status light flashes amber for three minutes during stage two of the cooling process.

When your projector’s status light glows solid amber, your Unifi projector’s cooling process is complete and it is safe to disconnect your projector’s power cable.

Disconnect your Unifi 35 projector’s power cable from the power plug.
-
Ensure that the status light turns off. If the status light doesn’t turn off, disconnect the USB cable that connects your computer to your interactive whiteboard.

Re-connect the power cable to the power plug, and then wait until the status light glows amber.

Ensure that the USB cable is connected from your computer to your Unifi 35 projector or its extended connection panel (ECP).
-
Press and hold the Up and the Power buttons on the projector until the projector’s status light flashes amber.

If a Found New Hardware message appears, wait for the Niobe Board drivers to automatically install, and then click Next.
OR
If no message appears, click Next, and then see the following procedure to complete your projector’s firmware installation.
To complete your projector’s firmware installation
Important
Complete all the steps in this procedure. If you do not complete each step, you might experience issues when you configure the projector and you’ll need to repeat the upgrade process.

When the firmware update is complete, click Next, and then click Finish in the Unifi Projector Update wizard.

Disconnect the power cable from your projector’s power plug, and then wait for the status light to turn off.

Press and hold your projector’s Power button while you connect the power cable to your projector.
-
When the status light flashes amber, release the Power button.
When the firmware update is complete, your projector shuts down and its status light glows amber.
Important
Do not turn off the power on your projector while the status light flashes amber.
