SMART’s Extensive Knowledge Base

One way SMART empowers its customers to help themselves is by providing a readily available and unrivaled source of SMART product information in our online Knowledge Base.

Knowledge BaseThe extensive Knowledge Base on the SMART Support website is a library of more than 1,500 easily accessible technical documents, which cover everything you need to know about SMART products and their installation, administration and use. This resource includes product and quick-reference guides, technical bulletins, how-to articles and a series of highly focused troubleshooting articles, all updated on a regular basis to include the latest information.

Many SMART customers are experiencing the benefits of this resource. So far this year, the SMART Support website has had more than 6.5 million page visits, with more than 200,000 documents downloaded from the Knowledge Base.

One Knowledge Base document of particular note is Top Technical Tips, which you can always find in the Popular downloads section of the SMART Support website. This document offers fast and simple solutions to minor issues you may be dealing with. It’s regularly updated to cover the most current questions customers have, and you can regard it as your first source of information when seeking a quick answer.

Search the Knowledge Base

If you don’t find the answer you require in Top Technical Tips, you can easily search the many other resources on the site by following these simple steps:

  1. If you aren’t there already, go to the SMART Support website. It’s a good idea to bookmark the page so you can find it again quickly.

  2. In the Search the Knowledge Base section on the right-hand side of the page, select either Search by keyword or Search by document number (if you know the number of the document you’re searching for), type your search term or terms, and then click Search.

    Your search results appear in a list. Click a link to open a document in a new window.

Search tips:

  • Use the correct product name and document type in your search to return the greatest number of results (for example, SMART Board 680 guide).

  • If you need the answer to a technical problem, include as much information in the search as you can. For example, include the symptoms you observe, the product, the model or version and any specific error messages that appear.

  • The Knowledge Base uses a Google-based search engine, so any tips you use when searching Google will also work here.
