SMART awarded second Worlddidac Quality Charter Accreditation

International education experts recognize SMART products for their worldwide educational value

CALGARY, Alberta – December 11, 2007 – SMART Technologies announces it has received certification under the Worlddidac Quality Charter (WQC) for a second time. This prestigious designation was presented to SMART by the Worlddidac Association, an independent, international association devoted to promoting the dissemination of quality educational materials worldwide. WQC is a quality certification for companies who participate in education projects and demonstrate a strong understanding of educators' needs. WQC-certified companies are noted to be the ideal partners for governments, international development and funding agencies, and all other organizations responsible for planning and implementing education projects. SMART’s recent WQC accreditation spans 2007 to 2010. The company was previously accredited from 2004 to 2007.

WQC certification goes beyond existing ISO standards because it provides the assurance that a company delivers products and services that contribute to quality education and sustainable results. Holders of the WQC must observe the goals of international development organizations in their business policy. WQC-certified companies are committed to education and adhere to standards of best practice regarding product quality, after-sales support, corporate governance, educational excellence, innovation and long-term stability.

“An international evaluation board of education and business experts accredited SMART after an extensive assessment,” says Paul Perjes, director of operations for the Worlddidac Association. “The accreditation speaks to the company’s continued commitment to quality products for the global market and its devotion for improving educational delivery through ICT.”

“Worlddidac is a highly-regarded association encouraging the successful implementation of education products around the world,” says Nancy Knowlton, SMART’s CEO. “For SMART to be certified again for this three-year accreditation further recognizes our company’s long-standing commitment to education and reaffirms our position as a leader in quality technology products for educators and students.”
