SMART products recognized again by European education society
CALGARY, Canada ---August 6, 2008 --- SMART Technologies announces that it has won the Comenius EduMedia Signet 2008 Award for the Senteo™ interactive response system and the SMART Board™ 600i2 interactive whiteboard system. The award for exemplary education media was presented at a ceremony hosted by the Society for Pedagogy and Information, a scientific organization specializing in multimedia, media didactics and education technology, on June 20 in Berlin, Germany. An independent jury selected winners based on didactic and scientific merit.
Functionality, features and ease of use for educators were the key factors that impressed the panel of judges from universities and other education institutions across Europe. The Senteo interactive response system and the SMART Board 600i2 interactive whiteboard system were both noted for having had a significant impact on education across Europe. In 2004, SMART received a Comenius Medal for the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, and in 2006, the company was awarded a Comenius Signet for SMART Notebook, the collaborative learning software that ships with many of SMART’s interactive products.
