Each successful Teacher of the Year recipient received a TEA technology classroom consisting of the following:

- SMART Ideas concept-mapping software (25 single-user licenses)
- AirLiner wireless slate
- Bridgit conferencing software (2-year subscription)
- NEC VT series portable projector
- 32-pad Classroom Performance System (CPS)
- Kar2ouche Composer role playing software and 2 topic titles (school site license)
- Krucible science-simulation software (single-user license)
At a ceremony in the Rose Garden at the White House on April 26, 2006, President George W. Bush presented the National Teacher of the Year award to Kimberly Oliver of Broad Acres Elementary School in Silver Spring, MD. For more information on Kimberly Oliver, click here.

Innovative Use of Technology
SMART also sponsored the Innovative Use of Technology awards in Alberta, Canada. Darren Fleischhacker of Wm. E. Hay Composite High School in Stettler, Doris Meinczinger of Busby School in Busby, Lelah Jean Watt of Vermillion Elementary School in Vermillion and Gil Espejo of St. Gabriel School in Fort McMurray were recognized with TEA technology classrooms.
MACUL Outstanding Educator
The Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL) Outstanding Educator of the Year and Outstanding Teacher of the Year awards was sponsored by SMART. Dr. Ron Sniderman of Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency was the Outstanding Educator of the Year and Amanda Reed Harthun of Bear Lake School in Bear Lake was the Outstanding Teacher of the Year. Both received TEA technology classrooms.
