What to Expect?

  • You will be comfortable using SMART Sync software in your classroom
  • You will receive a SMART Sync Software Learner Workbook. It includes reference material and step-by-step instructions. The workbook is used during the session and is an excellent future reference
  • You will get hands-on practice creating a quiz using SMART Sync software Quiz Wizard
  • Sessions are delivered using SMART Sync software with Microsoft Windows operating system, and each session is led by a SMART Training Specialist

Session Contents

  • Getting Started: Learn how to create a teacher ID and class list
  • Monitoring student desktops: Learn how to observe and capture student desktops, and how to place student desktops into groups
  • Using SMART Sync Software to instruct students: Learn how to broadcast desktops, share multimedia files and launch web pages on student desktops. You will learn how to conduct a poll or initiate a chat session with students
  • Controlling student desktops: Learn how to take control of or restrict student computers, including launching or blocking specific applications
  • Using SMART Sync software to assess students: Learn how to create a quiz using Quiz Wizard or import existing quizzes. You will learn how to use SMART Sync software to distribute, collect and automatically score your quizzes
  • Additional features: Learn how to integrate SMART Sync software with your SMART Board interactive whiteboard or with hand-held mobile devices
  • Additional resources: Discover how SMART Technologies supports you with access to software downloads, educator resources and SMART’s training center

Who Should Attend?

  • Primarily aimed at K-12 instructors and higher education instructors
  • New SMART Sync software users and other users who want a comprehensive overview from the basics to more advanced features

Customer Requirements

  • All participants should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows or Macintosh operating systems
  • A room that will comfortably hold 15 participants and an instructor
  • One computer with SMART Sync teacher-station software and Quiz Wizard
  • One computer per two participants with SMART Sync student-station and the stand alone version of Quiz Wizard installed on each computer in order to participate in the hands-on practice (1:2 ratio). The recommended set-up ratio is 1:1
  • SMART Board interactive whiteboard (necessary for the Trainer to deliver presentation)
  • Internet access (recommended but not required)
  • Networked computers (required)
  • Teacher-station and Student-station computers with SMART Sync software installed
  • Student stations installed to run in visible mode
