Touch Recognition
Write with a pen, erase with your palm and move objects with your finger without having to access additional tools, buttons or on-screen menus. With Touch Recognition, the board switches between touch modes automatically.
Pen Tray
Pick up a pen or the eraser and the Pen Tray automatically detects which tool you’ve selected. Buttons on the Pen Tray activate the On-Screen Keyboard, right-click and help functions.
Digital ink
Write in digital ink over files, applications and websites and then capture and save your notes for distribution and later reference.
Save function
Save SMART Board interactive whiteboard notes into a single PDF or image file and e-mail them directly to colleagues or take them with you on a USB drive.

SMART Hub VE appliance
Enjoy computer-free whiteboarding with this USB-capable input appliance that adds instant whiteboarding capability to your SMART Board interactive whiteboard. The SMART Hub VE also acts as a USB input appliance, so you can connect a laptop or other USB drive and easily toggle between content sources.
Front-of-room centralized control
Switch between all your audiovisual devices directly from the extended control panel. The panel provides centralized control of your meeting room technology, including DVD players, digital cameras, document cameras and VCRs. The extended control panel also has a dual-USB port that enables you to connect 2 computers to the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and easily switch between them as required.
Widescreen interactive whiteboard
Access 20% more workspace than a standard interactive whiteboard system with the 685ix. Ideal for use with widescreen laptops, the system has an 87" (221 cm) interactive whiteboard and an ultra-short-throw projector that offers a 16:10 aspect ratio and native WXGA (1,280 x 800) widescreen resolution.
