SMART Slate connects wirelessly to your computer from up to 32' (10 m) away. 
Working with a projector and your computer, the slate makes it easy for you to comfortably interact with course material while your students simultaneously view the same content on a large projection screen. To further enhance instruction, SMART Slate seamlessly integrates with the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, the SMART Podium interactive pen display and SMART Notebook collaborative learning software.

Sleek, ergonomic design
SMART Slate is slim and lightweight, making it easy to carry as you move around the room. It includes a battery-free, tethered pen that writes with precision. The pen is used on the wireless slate’s 6 3/4" x 4 1/4" (17.3 x 10.8 cm) electromagnetic surface to control applications, write notes and highlight information.
You can customize the slate by using the three user-defined buttons to set up quick access to your favorite functions. The tethered pen also features a customizable rocker switch and dedicated eraser.
Integration with SMART products
SMART Slate enables you to interact and teach with your SMART Board interactive whiteboard or the SMART Podium interactive pen display from anywhere in the room. The slate also seamlessly integrates with SMART Notebook collaborative learning software, a powerful and easy-to-use application that enables you to create, deliver and manage interactive course material within a single application. Your notes and graphics can be saved as objects that you can manipulate and organize. All of your work can be saved to a single file that is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems.
Simultaneous interaction
One student can write on the SMART Board interactive whiteboard at the same time as a classmate writes on the slate, with both students’ work being displayed simultaneously. This enables spontaneous collaboration between individual students and the entire class.
Integration with Ink Aware applications
The wireless slate enables you to write and save notes directly into Ink Aware applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
Battery-free, tethered pen
SMART Slate includes a battery-free, tethered pen that is used on the wireless slate’s surface to control applications, write notes and highlight information. The pen writes with precision and has a user-defined shortcut button and dedicated eraser. Since there are no batteries in the pen, it’s maintenance free.
Printed underlay
With SMART Slate, you’ll have access to printable sheets that fit under the plastic surface cover. Each underlay features customizable icons that are organized into a toolbar. Simply touch an icon with the pen to choose the tool you want, such as the pen, eraser, right-click or screen capture.
Electromagnetic surface
The 6 3/4" x 4 1/4" (17.3 x 10.8 cm) electromagnetic screen recognizes only the pen as an input device, so you can rest your hand on the screen naturally. The active area becomes proportional to any screen size for accurate contact.
Programmable buttons
Three customizable buttons on the wireless slate and the user-defined rocker switch on the pen provide easy access to your favorite functions.
Rechargeable lithium polymer battery
The slate’s battery has a charge time of 6.5 hours and a battery life of at least 24 hours of continuous use. Plus, the wireless slate has a physical power switch that ensures the battery doesn’t drain during periods of nonuse.
USB cable
Conveniently charge the wireless slate’s battery by attaching it to your computer with the included USB cable.
Bluetooth adapter
SMART Slate includes a Class 2 Bluetooth adapter that has an expected range of 32' (10 m) and a maximum range of 164' (50 m) of free space.
Ergonomic and portable design
The wireless slate has a compact, light form for improved ergonomics and easy transport around a classroom.
Kensington security lock
If you need to secure the wireless slate in a room, the Kensington security lock provides an easy way to attach a lock-and-cable apparatus.
