Project spotlight

Dominican Republic

In partnership with the Dominican Republic Ministry of Education, Intel, ApplianSys, the N50 Project, and Food for the Hungry, SMART proudly launched EduLabs in some of the Dominican Republic's most vulnerable communities. EduLabs began as a network of 80 technology-enabled schools in communities that have faced significant digital divides. Each school features Intel-powered labs, ApplianSys' EDUGATEBOXes to deliver robust internet access, and SMART Boards to make learning engaging and multifaceted. From coding and online research to adult education and job skills training, the project opens new opportunities for 23,000 families, equipping learners of all ages with the tools needed for success.
