SMART’s latest accessories, MultiStylus and SoundLift, have earned three separate Best of Show honors in 2026, with recognition spanning both the education and AV/integration trade circuits. Together, the wins reflect a rare double: products built for the classroom that are also resonating with the professionals who design and install AV systems for a living.
MultiStylus wins Tech & Learning Best of Show at ISTE 2026 — Secondary category
MultiStylus is an all-in-one classroom stylus that combines a pressure-sensitive pen (4,096 pressure levels), air mouse, and slide clicker in one device, letting teachers write, navigate, and control their SMART Board from anywhere in the room. Programmable buttons give instant access to tools and lesson controls, and a battery-free supercapacitor design charges fully in one minute for up to an hour of use — compatible with SMART Board MX and RX series displays.
It won Tech & Learning's Best of Show award in the Secondary category at ISTE 2026. Judges called it "a genuinely useful upgrade for teachers who want to stay mobile while still controlling the board and lesson flow," citing its precision writing, air mouse control, programmable buttons, and fast battery-free charging as "more innovative than a standard stylus."
SoundLift wins Tech & Learning Best of Show at ISTE 2026 — Primary category
SoundLift is a wireless voice amplification solution built into iQ 4-enabled SMART Board MX and RX series displays. Teachers wear a mic and speak at a natural volume while the room hears them clearly through the display's built-in speakers, no external amplifiers needed. A second mic supports a co-teacher or captures student voices, feedback suppression prevents echo, and it runs up to 15 hours on a charge with 98 feet of wireless range.
It won the same Best of Show recognition in the Primary category. Judges praised it for solving a problem every teacher knows, noting it "allows teachers to use natural voice without any students missing a word," and highlighting its seamless dual-microphone support for classroom presentations.
SoundLift wins Sound & Video Contractor Best of InfoComm 2026
Where ISTE's judging panel is made up of educators, InfoComm's Best of Show program, run by Sound & Video Contractor (SVC), is judged by AV integrators and systems designers evaluating products for installation value, reliability, and ease of deployment across commercial and institutional environments. SoundLift won there too, with judges noting it's "an easy opportunity for integrators to deliver clients a total package solution delivering not only the visual but also a robust auditory experience," adding that it's "lightweight and easy to wear as a presenter" and that "the direct integration with SMART displays makes it an obvious upgrade."
"It means something different when educators and integrators independently reach the same conclusion," said Kyle Shain, Director of Product Management, SMART Technologies. "One audience is judging how it feels in a classroom; the other is judging how it holds up in the field. Getting recognized by both tells us we built something that actually works, not just something that demos well."
