As part of its ongoing commitment to equitable, connected learning, SMART Technologies is helping bring interactive technology to underserved communities around the world through a collaboration with the N50 Project and its EdTech for All initiative.
Recent projects supported by SMART include a new digital lab for students in Indianapolis and expanded connectivity for a rural school in Kenya, where students and teachers now have access to internet, hardware, and hands-on IT training — including the latest in SMART Board interactive displays.
“We know that meaningful transformation only happens when technology is aligned with local learning goals,” says Kimberly Ball, Director of Global Alliances at SMART. “By supporting phased, intentional adoption, we can help ensure these investments create real impact.”
Technology with purpose
SMART’s contribution goes beyond hardware — it's about enabling sustainable digital ecosystems. The collaboration with the N50 Project reflects a shared vision: that every learner deserves access to high-quality, connected education. That means co-creating solutions that address real needs, not just shipping hardware.
“This is about inclusion, empowerment, and unlocking opportunity,” says Daniel Gutwein, N50’s Co-Founder. “With the support of partners like SMART, we’re not just delivering devices — we’re delivering pathways to a better future.”
These schools are some of the first recipients of the all new SMART Board GX Plus, a gamechanger for teachers and schools looking to make the most out of their technology budget while prioritizing engaging, collaborative and interactive learning.
Amplifying impact through partnership
With more than three decades of innovation in interactive education, SMART Technologies is proud to support global efforts that extend the benefits of modern learning tools to communities where they can have the greatest impact.
The partnership with N50 highlights how public-private collaboration can amplify innovation and accelerate global equity — aligning directly with SMART’s broader vision of education without barriers.
As a company headquartered in Calgary and delivering solutions in over 175 countries, SMART’s presence in this initiative also serves as a proud reminder of the global innovation that continues to grow out of Alberta.
